2026 is shaping up to be a truly special year for the sailing season in the Gulf of Gaeta.

A dense and high-profile calendar of events, organized by the Yacht Club Gaeta E.V.S., will attract athletes from all over Italy and abroad.

The season will officially kick off on April 18 with the Italian Cup 1st Stage Dinghy Class 12' (18-19/04/26), but May will represent the true beating heart of the calendar. Taking center stage is the Trofeo Punta Stendardo (1-3/05/26), now in its 30th edition: the club’s home trophy, a symbol of Gaeta’s sailing tradition and a must-attend event for offshore sailing, seamlessly combining competition, spectacle, and a strong connection to the territory.

May will be further enriched by the 2nd National Selection Optimist Class (7-10/05/26)and the Italian J/24 National Championship (19-24/05/26), turning every weekend into a unique opportunity to experience sailing at the highest level.

The month of June will mark one of the most prestigious moments of the entire season with the Italian Offshore Sailing Championship (22-27/06/26), alongside the 2K Team Race International Regatta (11-14/06/26), bringing an international-level sporting challenge to the Gulf of Gaeta.

July will be dedicated to the younger generations and to great tradition: the Primavela Cup and President's Cup (2-4/07/26), reserved for  O’pen Skiff alle Classi Ilca 4, O'pen Skiff, Optimist, Techno 293 OD classes, and the Grandi Vele – Meeting the Vintage Sails (1-5/07/26), a flagship event of the AIVE calendar, will offer scenes of rare beauty, celebrating both the history and the future of sailing.

In August, the Italian Italian Absolute Championship Class A (28-30/08/26) will round off an extraordinary season, once again showcasing the excellence of Italian sailing.

The calendar is still evolving and may be further enriched in the coming months, but one certainty remains: the Gulf of Gaeta continues to stand out as a premier stage for top-level Italian sailing.
