- SPERLONGA -

TIBERIUS VILLA

The large villa of the Roman Emperor dates back the 1st century AD.

It is certainly one of the most evocative testimonies of the Italian history of Lazio. After a walk among the massive marble sculptures, you are invited to take a path through the Mediterranean vegetation, walking down until you get to the cave, right by the sea.

The enormous natural ravine is preceded by a large rectangular seawater fishpond, still full of water and fish, just like it probably was 2000 years ago. The view of the cave, its frescoes and pools are the very same Tiberius and his court used to enjoy.

THE CITADEL

The historic center is a tangle of alleys, stairways and paths intersecting between the typical houses of all Mediterranean villages.

With its characteristic alleys, views, and panoramas, Sperlonga is considered one of the most beautiful villages in Italy.

Among the characteristic stone streets crossing each other from the "piazzetta" to the sea, there is a string of beautiful shops, artisan labs and cozy restaurants. Its glimpses of remarkable views over the sea will undoubtedly leave you speechless.

TRUGLIA TOWER

It stands on a rock of living stone on the extreme tip of Sperlonga promontory. Built in 1532 on the foundations of a pre-existing Roman watchtower, it is currently the Marine Environment Education Center of the "Riviera d'Ulisse" Regional Natural Park. The view enjoyable from Truglia Tower is postcard: stretches of golden and fine beach take turns to rocks, creating lovely coves mostly accessible by sea.
